Blockchain Association's mission is to advance the future of crypto in the United States, promoting the potential of blockchain technology and shaping policy that ensures its success. With over 100 members and growing, the Blockchain Association is the collective voice of the crypto industry.
Aside from art directing the branding, one of my main responsibilities at Blockchain Association is to redesign and maintain the website. With XD and wordpress, I worked with a developer to design and implement content blocks to quickly create and change pages in the backend. We added in some new functionality including a live twitter feed, a members only section with an events calendar and document share and homepage carousel with full screen images.
Project Objectives
1. User-Centric Design: Prioritize user experience to ensure easy navigation, accessibility, and engagement.
2. Enhanced Information Architecture: Streamline content organization for clarity and ease of understanding.
3. Mobile Responsiveness: Ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience across various devices.
4. Branding Consistency: Align the website design with The Blockchain Association's brand identity and messaging.
5. Community Engagement: Integrate features for member interaction, discussions, and resource sharing.
6. Up-to-Date Content: Implement a content management system (wordpress) for easy updates and maintenance.

Research and Discovery
• Conducted stakeholder interviews to understand the organization's goals, values, and key messaging.
• Analyzed user personas to identify the diverse needs and preferences of the association's audience.
• Reviewed competitor websites and industry benchmarks to identify best practices and areas for differentiation.
1. Design and Development:
• Wireframing and Prototyping: Created wireframes to outline the basic structure and layout of key pages.
• Developed interactive prototypes to visualize user flow and interactions.
2. Visual Design:
• Incorporated the association's branding elements, colors, and typography for a cohesive look.
• Utilized modern design trends to convey a sense of innovation and professionalism.
3. Responsive Web Design:
• Ensured a seamless user experience across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Prioritized mobile responsiveness to accommodate the increasing number of mobile users.
4. Content Management System (Wordpress):
• Implemented a robust CMS for easy content updates, empowering the association's team to maintain a current and relevant website.

User Testing and Iteration
• Conducted usability testing with actual users to gather feedback on the design and functionality.
• Iteratively refined the design based on user input to enhance overall usability.

Community Engagement Features
• Integrated discussion forums for members to share insights, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations.
• Implemented a resource library for easy access to industry reports, whitepapers, and educational materials.

Launch and Beyond
• Executed a phased launch, ensuring a smooth transition from the old to the new website.
• Conducted training sessions for the association's team to manage and update content independently.
• Established a post-launch plan for continuous monitoring, feedback collection, and iterative improvements.
Results
The redesigned website received positive feedback from users for its improved user experience and modern design.
• Increased engagement through the integrated community features, fostering a sense of collaboration among members.
• Achieved a significant improvement in website performance and load times.
• The Blockchain Association is now better positioned to communicate its mission, engage its audience, and stay at the forefront of blockchain technology advocacy.
This case study showcases the successful collaboration between design, development, and the our vision, resulting in a digital platform that not only meets the functional requirements but also aligns with the organization's values and goals.
